It starts with an idea - Wolfgang Seel founded in April 1985 in Erlangen / Germany his company with the aim of producing Siemens compatible modules. Step by step the product portfolio of the ambitious company was expanded. After the development of various single components, the first milestone with the launching of its own modular automation systems System 200V followed in 1996, which was the basis for the development of PLC systems 100V and 300V. With the development of SPEED7-High- Speed-PLC in 2003 a further technological milestone in the area of automation technology was succeeded. Based on a PLC-ASIC from Profichip GmbH, a subsidiary of VIPA GmbH, a PLC was realized, which set new standards in processing speed, memory availability and management. In 2005 the company expanded its product range by the Touch Panel family, so today VIPA has a continuous product portfolio nearly for all applications in automation.

The technology "SPEED7 - fastest Hard PLC worldwide" was awarded with the innovation award 2007 and in 2009 the company gains the Jobstar of Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. Additionally Lothar Sp�th, former state premier of Baden-W�rttemberg, awarded VIPA with the seal of approval "Top 100" for particularly innovative enterprises in the same year.
