With 500 m² of floor space the new centre now offers enough space to strengthen the growing fields of engineering and technical consulting in South-East Asia in addition to the sectors of sales, service and support kept in the smaller office during the past years. Mr. Peter Jacobi, who has been leading the application department of VIPA Germany for many years, will now be locally managing the competence centre in South-East Asia. With his many years of experience in application and the ideas of "German Engineering" implemented with selected local system integrators market acceptance was achieved within a short period of time.
Above all for the conversion from Siemens S5 controllers to S7, the VIPA competence centre in Malaysia has become an important contact partner for many key customers in the region. The conversion strategy has also been an important topic during the inauguration in which VIPA system partners from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia held motivating discussions on technical issues. During the past one and a half years more than 20 successful conversions were made in South-East Asia. This was an important result to once again stress the importance of our competence centre.
